About the Role
Dragonfly Cafe is seeking a full-time Kitchen Hand to support our kitchen operations. This role reports to the Kitchen Manager and is essential to ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently and safely.
The Kitchen Hand plays a key role in maintaining cleanliness, supporting food preparation, and assisting the kitchen team during busy service periods.

Working Hours
Ordinary hours of work are 38 hours per week, rostered across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
● Washing dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
● Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen areas, including floors, benches, and storage areas.
● Assisting chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks as required.
● Receiving, unpacking, and storing kitchen supplies and deliveries.
● Ensuring correct food handling, hygiene, and safety practices are followed.
● Removing waste and maintaining rubbish disposal areas.
● Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods.
● Complying with workplace health and safety policies at all times.
● Preparing and arranging food and beverage trays for service.
● Receiving, transferring, weighing, and checking kitchen supplies and equipment.
Minimum Requirements
● One-year previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment is required.
● Strong understanding of hygiene and food safety standards.
● Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
● Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
● Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
● Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
● Must be able to communicate in English.
