About the Business Unit:
The Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group, comprising Corrections Victoria, Justice Health and Justice Services, plays an integral role in developing safer and more resilient communities and in delivering a trusted justice and community safety system. As part of the Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group, the Metropolitan Remand Centre is a 954 bed maximum-security facility for unsentenced male offenders located within the West Metropolitan Region, Department of Justice and Community Safety.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Team Leader, Finance & Stores, the Business Support Officer will be responsible for providing essential support to the operations of Metropolitan Remand Centre.
Some of your duties will include:
* As part of the Stores and Canteen team, providing business services related to Stores, Canteen, and procurement for the Metropolitan Remand Centre
* Assisting in serving prisoners in the Prisoner's Shop, organising, and maintaining special spends and updating prisoner records on Correction Victoria systems
* Preparing stock estimates, obtain quotes, organising purchases to maintain stock levels for the Prisoner's Shop and Prison Stores, undertaking regular stock-takes, maintaining accurate records, and maintaining the shop in good order.

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
* Experience in, or capacity to quickly learn and use, Corrections Victoria and Department of Justice and Community Safety systems and applications
* The ability to effectively use departmental computer systems for basic word processing, email, appointment scheduling, internet and intranet functions
* The ability to produce a range of complex business correspondence and reports presenting clear, factual and pertinent information based on knowledge, research and analysis.
