Manager/Senior Manager – Indirect Tax Advisory – Melbourne

Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert advice on indirect tax matters, including GST, stamp duties, land tax, fuel tax credits, customs duties, and state taxes.
* Support clients during ATO assurance reviews and audits.
* Contribute to tax governance, data analytics, and the implementation of tax technology solutions.
* Conduct research on relevant case law, legislation, and revenue authority guidance.
* Act as a primary point of contact for clients, managing key client relationships.
* Assist with managing billing and ensuring control over Work In Progress, adhering to budgets and deadlines.
* Identify and assess engagement risks, ensuring quality control on assignments.
* Deliver in‐house technical training on indirect tax matters.
* Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering their development.
To Be Successful, You Will Need
* A Business/Commerce degree with an Accounting major or a Law degree.
* Tax experience in a similar role, preferably with exposure to indirect or state taxes.
* Strong communication and written skills with a keen eye for detail.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* A strong work ethic and a passion for delivering high‐quality results.
Desirable
* Progression toward or completion of CA, CTA, or equivalent qualifications.
* Pursuing or near completion of a Master of Taxation or Master of Laws (in Taxation).
* Completion of Practical Legal Training (PLT) or admission as a Solicitor (or working towards it).
