About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Software Engineer for a full-time hybrid role based in the Greater Melbourne Area. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building scalable, decoupled backend systems that power enterprise-grade SaaS platforms.
Contribute to the evolution of our backend architecture by developing secure APIs and leading our CRM migration to a service-oriented model on .NET Core. This position involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain robust software solutions. Key responsibilities include back-end web development, implementing scalable software systems, optimizing performance, and ensuring the use of best practices in software development. The hybrid nature of the role provides flexibility to work from home two days a week.
Key responsibilities include the following:
* Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using C# .NET Core.
* Manage refactoring legacy systems built on .NET Framework 4.8 and migration over to .Net Core
* Collaborate with frontend developers, Cloud engineers, QAs, and product managers to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
* Optimize database interactions using SQL Server and Entity Framework Core.
* Contribute to architectural decisions as we explore a new cloud architecture.
* Ensure code quality through automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
* Actively mentor mid-level and junior engineers
About You
We're looking for someone with:
* Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and designing robust web architectures.
* Strong experience in C# (8.0+), .NET Core, and REST API development.
* Solid understanding of SQL Server and Entity Framework Core.
* Experience working with AWS environments.
* Familiarity with microservices, or event-driven systems.
* Strong object-oriented programming and design skills.
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
* Ability to work in an agile team and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
* Ability to guide and mentor a team of engineers.
* A proactive mindset and a passion for clean, scalable code.
* Knowledge of superannuation or payroll systems is highly regarded.
