About Bussiness Unit
The Police, Fines and Crime Prevention group builds strong communities and supports community safety through regulation, policy, governance and legislation for policing, crime prevention, road safety, countering violent extremism and infringements, and through the delivery of key functions in the administration of fines, road safety cameras, Working with Children and NDIS Worker Screening checks, adoption services and the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
The Worker Screening Unit assists in protecting children from sexual or physical harm by ensuring that people who engage in 'child-related work' have the suitability to do so. NDIS Worker Screening assists in protecting children and vulnerable persons to ensure that people engaged in risk assessed roles are suitable to do so.
