What We Are Looking For
We have an exciting opportunity for a Bushfire Risk Mitigation Officer to join our Open Space & Environment team. You’ll play a crucial role in coordinating and overseeing Council’s Bushfire Mitigation Strategy and planning operational activities.
What Your Day Will Look Like
Utilising both internal and external resources to deliver prescribed burn plansAnalysing fire history and relevant data and maintaining mapping systemsAssisting with the development and implementation of disaster management plansEngaging with landowners, traditional owners and other relevant partiesResponding to customer requests and providing sound technical advice

What You’ll Need For Success
Experience in planning and delivering fire management programs and the ability to organise work schedules and resource requirementsStrong knowledge of fire ecology, natural area management and conservation operations Ability to engage with diverse audiencesCommitment to workplace health and safety practicesValid class C drivers licence
What’s Nice To Have
Degree qualification (AQF 7) in environmental science, fire ecology, natural resource management or similarLevel 3 Public Safety (Firefighter)
