About the role
We are seeking an Intermediate Consultant to join our Business & Private Client Advisory division, where you will work under the supervision and guidance of more experienced team members and be responsible for the management and administration of a number of clients together with your client managers. You will also have face-to-face contact with clients and be responsible for meeting productivity and client budgets, as well as meeting client deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns. This includes:
* Preparation of Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements;
* Processing and managing of Tax Office correspondence (eg. Assessments, Instalments and PAYG Tax variations).
* Preparation of Fringe Benefit tax returns
* Prepare the complete set of financial accounts for all type of entities including company, trust and partnership.
* Prepare payroll and payroll tax returns.
* Prepare and analyse standard management reports for clients (ie cash flow reports, budgets, etc).
* Prepare workpapers to a quality standard as set by the Division.
* Provide feedback, guidance and support to junior team members which can involve acting as a buddy.
* Prepare budgets and bills for services rendered.
* Other duties as required by the firm such as training, attendance at Careers Fairs, Committee membership, marketing, special projects, etc.
Key Skills and Experience
* A minimum of 12 months to 3 years' experience working in a Business Services environment in a Chartered / CPA accounting practice and have some exposure to tax issues.
* Degree qualified and have commenced their CA / CPA studies.
* Technically proficient and demonstrate a keen interest and desire to develop their knowledge and keep updated with the latest taxation law and accounting developments.
* Ability to work with junior members of staff by providing them with support and guidance and in some instances, act as a buddy.
* Capability to identify any issues for discussion with the appropriate Manager.
* Good time management skills and be ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines for a large group of clients.
* Present professionally and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills which will be consistently used in dealings with clients, partners and staff members.
* Prior experience working with APS, Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks and be competent in Microsoft Excel and Word.
