The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Technical Support Officer to join our Australian Plant Phenomics Network (APPN) node. The APPN is a nationwide network of research facilities providing open access to advanced technologies for digital phenotyping of horticultural and agricultural crops.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Support agricultural research by providing access to state-of-the-art phenotyping equipment.
* Assist in the operation, use, and application of phenotyping platforms.
* Provide technical support and training to users.
* Manage equipment use and maintenance.
* Monitor projects and crops.
* Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety standards.
About You
You hold a degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics, complemented by research experience or equivalent industry/government training. You have hands-on experience with equipment and instrumentation used in controlled environment facilities.
You are tech-savvy, enthusiastic, and ready to take on the challenge of coordinating the installation, maintenance, and calibration of cutting-edge phenotyping instruments. Your strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills make you a vital member of our team.
You will contribute to groundbreaking research in the field and provide invaluable technical support to researchers and partners in controlled environments, including glasshouses and field facilities.
