Property Services Support Officer (APS3) – Townsville

The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (the Reef Authority) is a Commonwealth non‐corporate entity and statutory agency established by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Act 1975. It reports to the Minister for the Environment and Water and its mission is to protect and sustainably manage the Great Barrier Reef.

Position

Support Officer in the Property and Security team at the Reef Authority's main office in Townsville. Provides frontline corporate service to the whole‐of‐agency supporting sustainable property management, protective security and business continuity.

Office‐based; no working‐from‐home arrangements.

About You

* You can maintain and use workflow and information databases, including data entry and retrieval tasks to support programme and project objectives.
* You exercise independent judgement and resolve issues with a degree of guidance and monitoring from a supervisor.
* You actively cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* You are an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, across all agency levels.
* You have previous experience or transferrable skills in a similar role.

Duties

* Facilitate property services requests and queries via shared mailboxes, workflow software, Property Services Provider work order platforms, phone and in‐person requests.
* Review and assist with requests or escalations, including directing customers appropriately, relocating small office furniture, directing deliveries, placing maintenance requests and escorting contractors and visitors to work areas.
* Perform administrative and functional tasks related to fleet vehicles and inventory: detailing, fuelling, charging and maintenance.
* Direct staff to property services facilities and training, assist with training packages and deliver in‐person training (vehicle and equipment inductions).
* Assist with maintaining security administration documents and day‐to‐day administrative processes, including procurement and finance requests and completing forms and documentation.
* Support sustainability initiatives, including sizing and issuing corporate uniforms, ordering stationery and organising postage.
* Demonstrate personal initiative and problem‐solving skills in a team environment, commitment to teamwork and flexibility in supporting others within the organisation.
* Occasionally undertake hazardous manual tasks such as lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling or carrying loads of varying sizes and weights.

Essential Requirements

* Have a Queensland Driver's licence and be able to drive corporate vehicles (including electric vehicles) and use electric‐vehicle charging equipment.
* Ability to travel on occasions to other office sites.
* Must be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
* Requires a Baseline security clearance; successful candidates must obtain and maintain this clearance.
* Willing to provide identity documents and undergo an identity pre‐employment check through a Document Verification Service.

Eligibility & Conditions

* Employment subject to conditions prescribed in the Public Service Act 1999.
* Security clearance at the required level from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
* Evidence of citizenship status.
* Evidence of qualifications required for the role.
* Completed national police‐check with no risks.
* CEO or delegate approval of a Notice of Engagement.
* Review of the Australian Government Security Clearance Application Guide Book for minimum eligibility.
