The Role:
Reporting to the Executive Manager of People and Culture, the WHS Manager will lead the implementation of health and safety objectives, by driving and continuing the promotion of positive cultural change and continuous improvement, within all operational areas of work health and safety.
This position plays a pivotal role in communicating and engaging with staff, contractors and key stakeholders, providing expert technical advice in relation to safety, and proving support and guidance through coaching and mentoring, to a diverse and inclusive organisation and its people.

2. Initial contract term of approximately 3-months, fulltime hours, with ability to apply for and be considered for permanent, ongoing fulfillment of the WHS Management role
3. Attractive hourly rate of $79.67 per hour, plus superannuation (inclusive of casual loading)
4. Ability to negotiate the provision of accommodation (if required) for the casual contract period
Key Position Accountabilities:
* Overall responsibility for the development of and implementation of the Work Health and Safety Management System.
* Effectively leading a team of safety and RTW professionals to assist the organisation in reaching its safety goals and targets.
* Positively influencing and advising leaders and workers on health and safety matters, requirements under WHS legislation, and drive forward the agenda for positive health and safety change in the workplace.
* Responsibility for the WHS training program including providing advice, training, consultation, monitoring and governance for compliance, in order to support stakeholders and ensure all relevant WH&S legislation, policies and procedures are implemented and effective.
* Managing and coordinating assigned projects for the development of WHS Management System programs and perform stakeholder consultation on draft documents.
* Facilitating and reporting on audits, making recommendations to ensure the WHS systems and activities are implemented, effective, and in accordance with legislative requirements.
* Managing the Return-to-Work Process and Workers Compensation requirements.
* Leading allocated site visits, inspections, and incident investigations.
* Coordinating health surveillance initiatives including health monitoring and vaccinations/immunisations.
* Supporting the development of systems for the selection, monitoring and enforcement of contractor compliance.
* Consultation with contractors on the safety aspects in project planning.
* Facilitating effective and transparent communication and consultation between Workers, HSR's and management through the effective operation of Health and Safety Committees.
Essential Selection Criteria:
* Tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety or similar coupled with significant practical application within industry
* Demonstrated experience of applied analytical skills in assessing and developing Health and Safety Management / Injury Management systems, including the provision of advice, guidance and coaching toward increasing safety maturity.
* Exceptional leadership skills, including demonstrated success in articulating strategic vision and bringing stakeholders along with implementing change.
* Ability to create and lead high-performance teams, in a high change customer-driven environment
* Demonstrated ability to plan and manage projects, prioritise work and meet deadlines within budget.

* Ability to pass pre-employment onboarding checks including but not limited to, 2x reference checks, pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol test and criminal history checks.
