Job Description
As a senior operations leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance and logistics of asphalt plants across Tasmania. You will manage all aspects of production, compliance, team development, and delivery to internal and external customers.
This is a highly visible and hands-on leadership role that requires someone who thrives in dynamic industrial environments with multiple moving parts.
Key responsibilities include coordinating plant schedules, raw material procurement, contractor management, and fleet performance, ensuring operational targets are met safely, sustainably, and on time.
Collaboration with technical, asset, and surfacing teams is essential to achieving customer outcomes and quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Heavy Plant Operations Experience: You must have demonstrated experience in heavy plant operations, including managing production processes, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols.
* Logistics Management: Proven experience in logistics management, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory control.
* Asphalt Production Leadership: A strong understanding of asphalt production processes, including raw material procurement, quality control, and batch plant operations.
* NHVR Chain of Responsibility Knowledge: Familiarity with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) chain of responsibility regulations and requirements.
* Safety Credentials: Strong safety credentials, including knowledge of OH&S legislation and adherence to safety protocols.
* Strong People Management Capability: Proven ability to lead and manage high-performing teams, including communication, coaching, and performance management.

Work Environment
