We are seeking a Senior Student Support Officer to join the Office of the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Engineering.

The Senior Student Support Officer in the Faculty of Engineering plays a vital role in providing expert consultation and support to students, ensuring the effective resolution of complex cases and seamless application of university policies within the Student Support Team. This position oversees case management, coordinates key initiatives like Exchange, Leave of Absence (LOA), Cross Institutional Studies, Advance Standing processes, and represents the Faculty in university-wide projects. The Senior Student Support Officer contributes to process improvements, compiles data-driven reports to inform decision-making, and ensures a collaborative, student-focused approach to service delivery. Additionally, the role assumes leadership duties in the absence of the Student Support Coordinator, reinforcing a culture of excellence and efficiency in student services.

What you need to succeed

* Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a degree in conjunction with subsequent relevant experience in a leading role with a strong focus in customer service support.
* Proven ability to identify, interpret, apply and analyse policies, procedures, statistics and other data to achieve workable solutions to meet the needs of clients.
* Proven initiative and capacity to resolve complex cases with minimal guidance and instruction, including ability to proactively contribute and collaborate within a demanding and high-paced team environment.
* Demonstrated ability to apply reasoning, judgement and analytical skills in resolving issues in a complex environment.
* Proven ability to communicate and liaise effectively with a wide range of people including students, academic and professional staff, with the ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to provide support to the team and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
* Excellent written and oral communication (including digital literacy) skills with demonstrated ability to write and edit a diverse range of high-quality materials.
