This role contributes to the development of a strategic approach to all intergovernmental water policy issues, including the Murray Darling Basin Plan and the National Water Agreement. You will be part of a team responsible for ensuring that Victoria remains ahead of emerging policy challenges, effectively represents its interests in intergovernmental negotiations, and maintains a strong connection with community concerns and expectations. You will work with a variety of people across Water and Catchments Group, DEECA and other agencies to develop strong policy positions and participate in and support intergovernmental forums. The role will suit an organised, energetic person with strong relationship and policy skills.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
* A relevant qualification and/or experience in science, economics, policy or law is desirable, but not essential.
* A good knowledge and understanding of working in government is desirable.
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 8 months, commencing 1 October 2025. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street Melbourne East, with hybrid work arrangements available.
