Overview
Lecturer, Food Science and Technology (Level B), teaching-focused role at Curtin University.
Based at Bentley Campus, Perth, Western Australia.
Full-time, continuing (permanent) position.
Salary: $118,308 - $140,147 (ALB) plus 17% superannuation.
Responsibilities
Actively contribute to the organisation, planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching in Food Science and Technology.
Demonstrate best practice and innovative teaching methods to enhance the student experience.
Assess and provide feedback on student work, contributing to curriculum design and content development.
Engage with the Agriculture and Food Science Discipline to promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
Apply health and safety standards and supervise practical classes and research students as required.
Promote the Discipline within and outside the University through service, leadership and outreach activities.
Demonstrate the University values of integrity, respect, courage, excellence and impact in all interactions.
Selection Criteria
Essential Criteria
PhD in Food Science and Technology or related discipline and at least two years of post-doctoral research or industry experience
Demonstrated high level teaching skills and a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching delivery
A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline and a record of contribution to the scholarship of teaching in the discipline
Demonstrated ability / experience / capacity to undertake unit coordination role
Demonstrated ability or potential to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects
Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to a collegial and supportive working environment and cross-cultural sensitivity
Demonstrated commitment to integrity, health and safety, equity and inclusivity
Role Requirements
As this is a continuing position, permanent work rights in Australia are required to be considered.
Visa sponsorship and relocation will not be supported.

Your Team
The School of Molecular and Life Sciences at Curtin University houses the Food Science and Technology courses, within the Agriculture and Food Discipline.
The school comprises 165 academic, research and professional staff, supporting learning for over 1000 students, and includes the Disciplines of Chemistry, Agriculture and Food, and Ecology.
