The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) is Australia's national criminal intelligence agency. We advise senior decision makers on serious and organised crime impacting Australia. We are a full member of the National Intelligence Community, an Attorney General's Portfolio agency, and a member of the Five Eyes Law Enforcement Group.
The ACIC is at the forefront of tackling serious and organised crime targeting Australia, both within our borders and offshore. Our staff operate against a pervasive, transnational and globalised criminal threat, and work hard to realise an Australia hostile to criminal exploitation. As a small agency that makes a real impact on serious and organised crime, we need talented and dedicated people who are intelligent, highly capable and seeking to make a difference to the lives of all Australians.
**About the branch**
Executive Branch leads the development of ACIC policy and strategy while delivering high-quality stakeholder engagement, governance, reporting and communication services.
The branch serves as an interface between the ACIC's intelligence collection capabilities and the development of whole-of-government strategies, policies and initiatives. It has a high level of engagement with the agency's external stakeholders as well as providing ministerial and board liaison and support, including secretariat support for external and internal governance committees.
Executive Branch coordinates the agency's media response, manages our online channels, and provides communication and graphic design support. It also ensures the ACIC operates effectively to deliver on its purpose and communicate its achievements through strategic planning and performance reporting.
**About the role**
The Strategic Policy team works closely with the ACIC Executive—and across the agency—providing timely, considered high order support in relation to strategically important (and emerging) matters that require broad agency consideration through, legislative, policy, interagency liaison (notably the National Intelligence Community, central agencies and key state and territory interlocutors) as well as ministerial and parliamentary channels.
The Strategic Policy team is agile and collaborative.
There is not necessarily 'a typical day', we're often working on concurrent priorities to provide advice, coordinate the ACIC's contribution to whole-of-government legislation and policy (including the New Policy Proposals) and by extension contribute to parliamentary and ministerial channels and high-level meetings, taskforces and fora.
The Strategic Policy Advisor will be an integral team member, contributing to and providing support across the team.
