Grampians Health is seeking a skilled and motivated
Coding Operations Manager
to lead the day-to-day operations of our Clinical Coding team across all campuses. This role ensures the timely and accurate completion of ICD-10-AM coding of inpatient episodes, supporting both internal and external deadlines and optimising NWAU outcomes. Alongside managing resources and staff, the role includes coding responsibilities and may contribute to coding audits and education.
Key Responsibilities
 * Oversee the daily operational management of the coding team to maximise throughput.
 * Allocate outstanding episodes for coding and monitor daily performance against targets.
 * Ensure coding deadlines are achieved, with all episodes coded within 28 days post end-of-month.
 * Set KPIs for the Clinical Coding team, in consultation with the Manager Clinical Coding & CDI.
 * Contribute to reducing coding error rates through structured audit feedback and education.
 * Build skills in coding audit and education delivery.
 * Conduct performance reviews and manage professional development opportunities.
Skills & Experience
 * Qualified Health Information Manager or Clinical Coder.
 * Minimum 4 years' experience as a clinical coder with advanced skills in complex casemix.
 * Demonstrated leadership experience or clear leadership potential.
 * Proven experience in NWAU optimisation and coding audits.
 * Strong skills in data management, analysis, and reporting.
