**About the role**
The incumbent will enter the SA Pathology Anatomical Pathology training programme with a view to gaining the FRCPA.
Registrars are trained in Laboratory Management; Laboratory techniques; Handling fresh and frozen specimens; Surgical Cut up; Microscopic examination and reporting; Cytological examination and reporting; Autopsy procedures; Presentation at Multidisciplinary meetings; Quality Assurance program modules; Undergraduate teaching; Tissue Banking.
During training the person will participate in:
- the provision of Anatomical Pathology, Cytology and Mortuary services and diagnose under appropriate supervision the presence and stages of disease in body tissues, fluids, secretions and other specimens
- undergraduate and postgraduate medical education through teaching, clinico-pathological patient review and personal study
- advancement of knowledge through research

**Essential Requirements**:
- Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
- Working With Children Check (DHS)
- Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
