About the Role
Due to the drive for innovation and the development of new categories, manufacturing has expanded from Australia into China and Taiwan, with quality and engineering support on the ground in Sydney. This newly created role will be responsible for ensuring that offshore contract manufacturers continue to develop and implement best practice in quality management, to prevent defects and variations, deliver continuous improvements, and decrease costs whilst adhering to International and Australian quality standards and safety measurements. The focus will be in product quality, supplier development, customer quality and continuous improvements.
Key Responsibilities and Experience
- Develop processes and product inspection techniques and supporting documentation to support NPD and components
- Design and implement document procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection
- Work with the manufacturers to develop and implement quality and control plans
- Conduct process audits and analyse quality data, perform root cause analysis
- Be the lead for customer complaints and drive-up customer satisfaction
- Work with procurement and engineering teams to select and assess existing suppliers, or assess potential new suppliers in other SEA regions
- Develop metric reports and identify supplier non-conformance trends
- Develop a strong relationship with Engineering and Manufacturing and use Six Sigma tools to eliminate waste that causes product quality concerns
