Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding role in Emergency Medicine?
We are seeking an experienced Senior Emergency Physician to join our team at Belmont Hospital, providing expert patient care and clinical leadership in our Emergency Department (ED). This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a close-knit, highly skilled team delivering high-quality emergency care to the Lake Macquarie community.
Our ED provides care to patients of all ages, including 14-20% paediatric presentations. We see approximately 29,000 presentations annually, with an admission rate of 14%. While we have a strong aged care patient cohort, our department prioritises education, research, and work-life balance.
As a Senior Emergency Physician, you will lead clinical shifts alongside the nurse in charge and the multidisciplinary team, provide direct patient care and clinical supervision, support junior medical staff, Nurse Practitioners, and medical students in their professional development, ensure high-quality, compassionate emergency care, and work in collaboration with John Hunter Hospital, our local Level 1 trauma and tertiary referral centre.
To be successful in this role, you will require Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) and registration with AHPRA, recent and comprehensive experience in Emergency Medicine, willingness to provide overnight on-call cover for the ED, and strong leadership skills with a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
In return, we offer a range of benefits, including salary packaging, fitness passport memberships, employee assistance programs, and dedicated medical recruitment and settlement concierge services.
