Dental Assistant – Community Dental Clinic

About the role:
You will
- Assist the dental clinicians chairside during treatments and examinations, information and follow ups with patients, delivering these services in a culturally appropriate manner
- Prepare and provide equipment, dental materials and instruments for patients according to dental treatments
- Maintain a clean, safe and culturally welcoming environment through proper sterilisation and infection control practices
- Help keep the clinic running smoothly with bookings, stock control and day-to-day administration procedures
- Participate in oral health promotions
- Work as part of the dental team and broader AWAHS team to provide accurate information to patients and the community
What We Are Looking For:
Selection Criteria
- Certificate 111 in Dental Assisting or equivalent with more than 12 months clinical experience and knowledge in dental nursing
- Demonstrated understanding of infection control procedures
- A caring, people-first attitude and a robust attention to detail
- A team player who can take initiative and work with pride
- A commitment to cultural respect, confidentiality, and delivering person-centred dental care that is responsive to each individual’s needs and experiences
- Strong computer literacy and ability to use computerised patient information systems
- Current Driver’s License
