About the company Our client is a well-established automotive repair workshop specializing in accident-damaged vehicles. About the role Just Automotive Recruitment is searching for a Panel Beater in Mitchell, ACT. The role focuses on panel repairs, remove-and-refits, and replacements—no structural work required. Duties Perform panel repairs on accident-damaged vehicles, including remove-and-refit of panels, quarter panels, and associated components. Assess damage and carry out a mix of panel repairs (approx. 30–40% of jobs) and panel replacements (heavy focus on replacement rather than extensive repair). Strip and refit vehicle components to access damaged areas, using new workshop equipment (welding, regas/degas systems, etc.). Work alongside the existing team of 2 panel beaters, 2 painters, 1 apprentice painter, and 1 detailer in a busy insurance-focused workshop. Ensure all repairs meet quality standards and are completed efficiently with minimal supervision. Assist with general workshop tasks as needed (no structural repairs required; mechanical sublet work is handled externally). Skills and experience Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing (AUR32420) or Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology (AUR32120) or equivalent qualification. Minimum 3 years’ experience as a qualified panel beater (trade-qualified preferred). Open to a strong Year 3 or Year 4 apprentice who is reliable and ready to step up. Solid technical knowledge of panel repair techniques, welding, and remove-and-refit processes. Ability to work with modern vehicle panels and a high volume of replacement parts. Reliable, team-oriented, and comfortable in a small, friendly workshop environment with no high-pressure targets. Full Australian driver’s license and right to work in Australia. Own basic hand tools (major equipment supplied by the workshop) Benefits Monday to Friday, 7 AM – 3 PM, with flexible start and finish times.
