We're currently recruiting for a Disability Inclusion Learning Assistant to support the inclusive education of students with disabilities and neurodiversity in a secondary school setting.
This is a meaningful role for someone who is passionate about working alongside young people, building relationships, and supporting students to access learning, feel a sense of belonging, and experience success at school.
The position focuses on:
• supporting students in the classroom alongside teachers to enhance engagement and independence
• facilitating small group learning and targeted support programs
• assisting students to develop organisation, communication and self-regulation skills
• supporting participation in school life, transitions and wellbeing initiatives
• working collaboratively with teachers, wellbeing staff and the Disability Inclusion team
• contributing to inclusive practices that respond to students' strengths and functional needs

Selection Criteria
Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education and supporting students with diverse functional needs in a secondary school setting.
Experience supporting student learning, engagement and independence in the classroom, including communication, organisation and self-regulation.
Capacity to work collaboratively with teachers, Disability Inclusion teams, wellbeing staff, families and the broader school community.
Ability to build positive relationships with young people and communicate effectively using a strengths-based approach.
Experience supporting inclusive practices, reasonable adjustments and targeted strategies to meet diverse learning and wellbeing needs.
Role
Staughton College is seeking a Disability Inclusion Learning Assistant (Education Support Level 2) to support students in a secondary school environment through inclusive practices that promote engagement, independence and wellbeing.
The role works collaboratively with teachers, the Disability Inclusion team, wellbeing staff, families and the broader school community to support students with diverse functional needs to access learning and participate fully in school life.
Time fraction: Full-time (part-time negotiable)
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:00am : 4:06pm
Responsibilities
Provide classroom support to students to enhance engagement and independence
Assist teachers in implementing inclusive practices and reasonable adjustments
Support students based on their strengths, interests and functional needs
Work collaboratively with the Disability Inclusion team to support planning and targeted interventions
Support student organisation, communication and self-regulation skills
Assist with small group and targeted learning programs
Support student participation in school activities and transitions
Contribute to a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment
