We are seeking a responsible, calm and creative mothers helper/nanny to assist a loving family in Chermside. The family have 3 lovely girls (7 yr old and 2 yr old twins)
**The days and normal hours over -3 days - 20 + hours per week**
Wednesday to Friday 8.30am -4.00pm
Also additional hours may be offered plus evenings/weekends if this suits the nanny.
An ideal nanny will be calm and nurturing with a friendly/happy, energetic and creative personality.
A nanny that has a genuine love of children and can dedicate their time to the children and enhance their learning and development on a daily basis. Be able to plan, play age appropriate activities. The nanny will need to follow the children's routine and support Mum with some light household duties and basic meal preparation to assist in the smooth running of the household.
The family is looking for a nanny who adapts well, is responsible,safe, reliable,trustworthy and transparent, and can commit to the role on a long term basis, building a lovely relationship with the whole family.
This role is a mother's helper role first, and a nanny second.
Mum suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome, so her energy levels range from 10 - 30 % of a normally functioning adult. Some days are much better than others. Whilst mum doesn't need care (beyond what her husband provides), the mothers helper needs to act as a 'second mum', so being adaptable to the normal situations that a stay-at-home mum would face is required.
The eldest child attends school so care is only needed for her before/after school and in the holidays.
**The carer's responsibilities for this role will be as follows -**
- Care for the children
- Provide routine and structure
- Provide age appropriate activities (plan, engage, play)
- Take the children out for walks/park/playground playgroups,library, swimming etc.
- Prepping and cooking nutritious healthy basic meals and snacks
- Run errands (occasionally)
- Laundry - Washing / folding and putting away
- Support with different housekeeping activities -collecting towels, changing bed sheets, spot cleaning floors,cleaning high-chairs, tidying play areas (e.g., cubby house),clean out fridge. Ad-hoc duties to support mum.
**The family's expectations from their nanny are -**
- 3 years + experience as a nanny or working in child care
- Child care qualification (preferred)
- Have a current first aid certificate
- Have a current blue card
- Display robust communication skills and speak English
- Basic cooking skills
