Centered around innovation and quality, Cape Herb and Spice gives any candidate a great opportunity to gain extensive international experience and build an exciting career.Purpose:The maintenance technician needs tooversee the upkeep of Machinery, equipment and facility by performing proactive asset maintenance, reactive maintenance, and emergency maintenance.Key Functional Areas:Conduct routine maintenance checks of plant, equipment and machinery as per DMS systemAttend to breakdowns timeouslyElectrical and pneumatic problem solvingEnsure that workshop and toolbox is clean and tidy at all timesProactively inform Maintenance Manager when stock is running lowObtain and follow up on quotations from suppliers. Accepting deliveries from suppliersDeliver high standards of cleanliness and reliability of production machinery and factory facilitiesCreating and maintaining documentation on repairs and preventative maintenance proceduresReviewing maintenance strategies in CMMSPerform maintenance related administrative duties as requiredCo-ordinate external maintenance services by contractorsIssuing of permit to work for contractors when requested to do soEnsure contract compliance with company HSE rules and policiesContinually work to enable the site to achieve key objectives of safety, quality and serviceConduct Health and Safety functions as per company requirementsRequired Knowledge and Skills:Basic knowledge in HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems Familiar with OSHA and other relevant safety regulationsProficient in appropriate handling of hazmatProficient with a wide range of repair equipment, including power toolsExcellent oral and written communicationComputer literate and proficient with the MS Office suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)Able to lift and carry up to 25kgsRequired Prior Learning/Experience:Qualified Artisan: MillwrightMatric or Matric equivalent qualificationTechnical Experience in:FittingElectronicsBasic Welding (Argon Gas)Electrical WiringExperience in CMM SystemsPersonal Characteristics:Eager attitude and willing to go the extra mile to complete job functionsMotivated and independent workerAbility to follow instructionsAbility to act quickly and effectively in emergency situationsNeatly presented at all timesAble to be a team player and work well in a teamOrganised and ability to pay close attention to detailIf you have not received a response within two weeks of application submissions, kindly consider your application unsuccessful.To consider any application for employment, we will have to process your personal information.
