About the company
Our client is a long-standing, family-owned distributor and wholesaler in the outdoor leisure category. With more than three decades in the Australian market, they design, source and supply a diverse range of products including BBQs, outdoor kitchens, heaters, camping gear, generators and outdoor accessories. Their ranges are sold through major national retailers and specialist stores, underpinned by a values-led culture, practical innovation and a commitment to strong, long-term customer partnerships.
About the role
The Territory Manager for New South Wales will oversee a high-value mix of major retail chains and independent specialist stores. You'll work closely with key customers such as
Bing Lee, Harvey Norman and BBQs Galore
, while also supporting independent operators, franchise networks and owner-managed stores across the state.
While established routes and call cycles exist, the business is seeking someone who can analyse sales data, question historical patterns respectfully, and refine the approach to lift overall performance. You'll be supported by the National Sales Manager, divisional leaders and the merchandising and replenishment teams, with regular engagement across the broader business. The role suits someone who thrives in an autonomous, hands-on environment and enjoys taking full ownership of their territory.
Skills & expertise required
The business is looking for a confident, customer-centric Territory Manager with strong fundamentals in account management and retail execution. You'll bring a proactive, opportunity-led mindset and feel comfortable managing both new business and an existing portfolio across big-box and specialty retail. Experience within similar channels — such as appliances, outdoor living, tools, hardware or consumer goods — will be highly regarded.
Strong relationship-building skills are essential, particularly when working with franchise operators and independent retailers where influence, consistency and trust drive results. Given the breadth of the product mix, commercial thinking, a value-oriented approach and the ability to simplify complexity for customers will set you up for long-term success.
