ABOUT THE JOB
We're looking for a talented Assistant Store Manager for Mount Barker, SA. The position exists to provide operational leadership support to the Store Manager. The role acts as 2IC to help the store achieve its strategic objectives in line with The Salvation Army Mission and Values.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support and assist the Store Manager in leading all retail functions to deliver on store-specific and e-commerce goals that contribute to the achievement of Salvos Stores strategic objectives with the goal of achieving sales and surplus targets set for the store.
- Support and assist the Store Manager to ensure all stock [donated and PLU] is managed, priced and displayed in line with Salvos Stores Policy and Procedures and reflective of TSA Mission, Vision and Values
- Assist the Store Manager in providing regular training, direction, feedback and performance management to employees and volunteers to ensure they adhere to Salvos Stores Policy and Procedures and invest in employees' professional development as required.
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing all housekeeping activities at the store to ensure all activities are done in a timely manner.
- In the Store Manager's absence, ensure all store related administrative tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Along with the Store Manager, lead a safety-first culture in the store by ensuring compliance with WHS directives, legislations and SS policies and ensure compliance with all Salvos Stores Work Health and Safety procedures and directives.
- Maintain and undertake all required safety reporting on a timely basis.
- Perform additional tasks/duties as reasonably required in accordance with established guidelines, processes and/or as required by the Store Manager.
ABOUT YOU
Demonstrated relevant retail management experience is highly regarded. Along with your people and team leadership qualities, your passion and proven ability to deliver outstanding results in a complex and rewarding retail environment.
You will have a strong customer service experience working in a retail environment with an ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Importantly, as someone known for your integrity, you will also be comfortable aligning to The Salvation Army Mission and Values to positively support and impact the lives of others through your career contribution.
To be successful in this role you must possess excellent people leadership and management abilities. You will be an outstanding written and verbal communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Solid technical skills and experience using Workday HCM system experience, highly regarded.
