Key Job Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in delivering high-quality projects across various disciplines. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading design delivery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and shaping real-world outcomes that enhance our built environment.
The role involves taking ownership of civil engineering projects from feasibility to final delivery, preparing DA reports and stormwater management plans, designing infrastructure elements, overseeing construction phase activities, and coordinating with internal disciplines and external consultants.
Additional responsibilities include conducting site investigations and technical assessments, reviewing and signing off on design documentation, acting as a key liaison with architects, developers, contractors, and regulatory bodies, influencing design reviews and risk workshops, and contributing to the continuous improvement of systems and workflows.
Project Leadership
* Lead design delivery and project coordination
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals
* Develop and implement project strategies to ensure timely and within-budget delivery
Technical Expertise
* Prepare DA reports and stormwater management plans
* Design infrastructure elements, including roads, intersections, pavements, earthworks, and drainage systems
* Conduct site investigations and technical assessments
* Review and sign off on design documentation
Communication and Liaison
* Act as a key liaison with architects, developers, contractors, and regulatory bodies
* Coordinate with internal disciplines and external consultants to deliver integrated outcomes
Continuous Improvement
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and workflows
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (essential)
* 10+ years of experience in civil engineering design and consultancy
* Strong capability in stormwater, flood modelling, and pavement design
* Working knowledge of 12D, AutoCAD, DRAINS, MUSIC, XPStorm (not essential)
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Proven ability to manage projects, stakeholders, and timelines
* Knowledge of Australian Standards, planning frameworks, and engineering codes
* Ability to lead, mentor and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
* Must have Australian work rights
* Business development and client liaison experience (advantageous)
