About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Consultant/Assistant Manager to join our Risk Advisory Services (RAS) team based in Adelaide. BDO's Risk Advisory Team provides a full range of risk solutions to help our clients navigate a diverse range of challenges, changes, and opportunities. The services the team provides include:
* Risk Consulting: Internal Audit Processes Improvement – including Process Mapping and Control Remediation
* Third Party Assurance
* Business Continuity and Resilience Services
* Compliance Advisory
Our broader Adelaide Advisory Team is growing and beyond RAS, provides economic and infrastructure advisory and consulting services. This role may provide opportunity to also work across these areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivering a variety of internal audits, business risk assurance, and business process improvement projects in accordance with BDO's methodologies and procedures, including report writing and client communication.
* Recommending policy, procedural, process, system and control improvements where identified.
* Assisting in preparing proposals or scoping documents in response to client requests, preparing reports for projects undertaken, and assisting with the development of new methodologies and service offerings.
* Collaborating with the team to assist with scheduling of work across the practice.
* Contributing to the development of junior staff in a mentoring capacity.
* Maintaining relationships with clients and working with Partners/Associate Directors in creating future business opportunities.
About You
* Experience in internal audit or related risk management or similar role.
* Ideally an accounting or business-related degree.
* A working knowledge and understanding of basic internal audit and risk management practices and standards (IIA and ISO31000).
* Knowledge and experience in undertaking internal audits, risk assessments, risk management framework reviews, etc.
* Experience in internal auditing of basic financial processes and controls as well as internal auditing of operational processes.
