**About this opportunity**
Our Large Format Industrial Packaging business specialises in the manufacture and supply of rigid plastic and metal packaging servicing for the consumer and industrial sectors.
As National Logistics Manager, for our Large Format Industrial Packaging, a part of our steel division, you will be responsible for formulating and implementing a Supply Chain strategy that optimises manufacturing capacity, inventory, labour and distribution costs that delivers a sustained 'best-cost' for our customers while supporting growth. Specifically, you will
**Your key responsibilities include**:
- Review customer demand and manufacturing footprint and formulate a network design (warehouse, transport lanes) that balances product availability and inventory levels
- Work with the sales teams to clarify and document service levels
- Work with the Planners & Operations Managers to interpret and understand customer forecast requirements and develop fulfilment models and inventory holdings for the factories to work to, monitor conformance and adjust accordingly within cashflow KPI's
- Further develop and implement a centralised supply planning, raw material sourcing and distribution model including processes, role design and system selection & implementation
- Evaluate long-term demand based on the growth strategy against forecast demand, supply LTTD and make recommendations on additional/surplus capacity and/or outsourcing
- Drive reductions in excess or obsolete inventory in structured disciplined process
- Drive optimum transport contract structures for the LFIP business through the Group Procurement function and LFIP Reuse shared customers and transport lanes
- The role is also responsible for mentoring Supply Chain talent (Planning, Warehouse) in the operational teams
