This is an exciting part-time (0.4FTE) role for an experienced GP, with extensive knowledge in Alcohol and Other Drugs, to work with our General Practice Drug and Alcohol Advice Service (GPDAASS).

What You'll Be Doing
The GP Drug and Alcohol Advice and Support Hotline is provided by a GP Visiting Medical Officer and Clinical Nurse Consultants, to offer support, advice, shared care of patients, assessment, and referral. Further advice may be sought from an Addiction Specialists as required. The GP Drug and Alcohol Advice and Support Service also provides in-practice support and GP Registrar training within the South Western Sydney Local Health District Drug Health Service.

How To Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible. View our application guide for information on how to respond to criteria and improve your application.
* Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and is Vocationally Registered as a GP, or has Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Health Insurance Act 1973. Experience working as a general practitioner within a public health organisation.
* Experience supervising GP registrars in extended skills posts in addiction medicine.
* Demonstrated evidence of leadership within the general practice field, with high level communication skills involving GPs and a demonstrated track record of teaching GPs in the field of addiction medicine.
* Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at a District level, if credentialed.
* Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice with a demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
* Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/ continuing professional development.
* Preparedness to participate in research and quality improvement projects, relevant to the role, if required and credentialed.
* Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
