About the Role
The Senior Medical Receptionist is a lead front-of-house position and a critical operational role within Jema Clinic. This position is ideal for someone who is confident, warm, highly organised, and genuinely passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience.
As the first point of contact, you set the tone for every patient interaction. You will lead the reception team, support clinical staff, and work closely with the Practice Manager to ensure the clinic operates smoothly, efficiently, and professionally at all times.
This role goes far beyond answering phones — it requires leadership, initiative, accountability, and a strong understanding of medical administration processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support the reception team to maintain high service standards
* Coordinate appointments, recalls, and reminders using Best Practice and HotDoc
* Ensure front-desk operations meet clinical, privacy, and compliance standards
* Act as a key liaison between reception, nurses, doctors, and management
* Manage Medicare, DVA, private billing, and third-party claims accurately
* Ensure adherence to clinic policies, procedures, and codes of conduct
* Manage patient enquiries professionally, empathetically, and efficiently
* Support daily clinic workflow and troubleshoot operational issues proactively
* Assist with audits, accreditation preparation, and documentation compliance
* Maintain confidentiality, data security, and patient privacy at all times
