Vocational Advisor, Corrections
Federation University Australia is seeking a Vocational Advisor, Corrections to support students at prisons in the Grampians Region. The role involves advising on educational and employment pathways, developing and maintaining plans, and coordinating with correctional staff and external providers.
Base Pay Range
A$91,******/yr – A$98,******/yr
Responsibilities
Advise students on pathway opportunities in Grampians Region prison sites, planning to achieve educational and employment goals during incarceration and post-release.
Conduct individual vocational assessments and learning plan reviews within prescribed timelines for eligible students.
Monitor and report on performance targets for vocational advice, learning plans and reviews.
Maintain accurate, confidential student learning plans, case notes and records, and upload data to the Corrections Victoria internal database.
Provide recommendations on individual student outcomes to university and Corrections Victoria staff, including referrals to external support service providers.
Travel between correctional facilities and campuses as required.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience providing vocational/career advice in a corrections environment or to similar disadvantaged groups.
Full drivers licence and willingness to travel between correctional facilities and campuses.
Knowledge of issues and challenges affecting individuals within a corrections environment, related to education and employment during incarceration and post-release.
Excellent communication, mentoring and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as a team member.
Ability to develop and maintain community/industry relationships and networks with support services available to incarcerated individuals.
