The position provides coverage within the inpatient mental health units at Campbelltown Hospital and supports professional development, supervision, teaching, quality improvement activities, and administrative duties.
Overview
The Inpatient Mental Health Social Work Department at SWSLHD is seeking a Social Worker who is passionate about delivering high-quality care within an inpatient mental health setting. You will be part of a large, collaborative social work team contributing to high-quality care across inpatient mental health units. This role offers exposure to diverse clinical environments spanning acute and non-acute settings and supports growth within the department.
Responsibilities
* Provide coverage within the inpatient mental health units at Campbelltown Hospital and contribute to care across the inpatient units in the region.
* Deliver evidence-based psychosocial interventions and support for families and carers; refer to appropriate services as needed.
* Collaborate effectively with fellow social workers and the multidisciplinary team.
* Promote optimal health outcomes for consumers and carers through social work services.
* Adhere to SWSLHD policies and procedures, professional standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
Selection Criteria
* Social Work degree with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* Demonstrated experience in a health-related field and ability to provide a range of social work interventions.
* Ability to prioritise work and manage stressful situations.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency.
* Commitment to clinical supervision and ongoing professional learning.
* Understanding of quality processes and application of evidence-based practice within social work.
