About the Role
Join a nationally significant marine and defence organisation delivering some of Australia's most complex and high‐profile projects. This organisation operates at the forefront of naval sustainment and large‐scale defence programs, playing a direct role in supporting Australia's national security.
We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to oversee the financial performance of complex, high‐value projects. You will provide critical financial insights, manage cost controls, and support decision‐making across multiple contracts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys translating numbers into actionable guidance and driving financial discipline in large‐scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and monitor the financial performance of large, complex contracts and projects
* Provide accurate, timely financial performance and project cost reporting to stakeholders
Support project delivery through financial guidance and commercial insight
* Manage cost control activities, including variance analysis and reconciliationsCompile financial data for board and senior stakeholder reporting
* Oversee invoicing and collections processes
* Act as the primary financial point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders
* Occasional collaboration calls outside standard hours (UK/US time zones), and ad hoc domestic or international travel may be required.
About You
* Australian citizen with eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and National Police Clearance
* Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting, or a related discipline
* Full CPA, CA, ICA, or equivalent membership with significant post‐qualification experience
* Experience in management accounting, financial planning, and analysis within complex project environments
* Proficiency with Power BI from creation to running
* Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and time management skills
* Proactive problem solver with a focus on driving results and supporting project delivery
