Due to business growth, we are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Baker to join our bakery team.
About the Role
As a Baker, you will be responsible for the preparation, baking and presentation of a wide range of breads and bakery products. The role requires strong technical baking skills, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and bake a variety of bread products including loaves, rolls and specialty breads according to established recipes and production schedules.
* Measure, weigh and mix ingredients to prepare doughs and batters using both manual and mechanical bakery equipment.
* Knead, cut, mould and shape dough prior to baking to ensure consistent size, texture and appearance of finished products.
* Operate and monitor commercial bakery equipment including mixers, dough dividers and ovens, adjusting baking times and temperatures where required.
* Apply toppings, glazes and finishes to baked goods to achieve the required quality and presentation standards.
* Ensure all food preparation areas are maintained in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
* Monitor ingredient levels and assist with stock rotation and ordering where required.
Requirements
* Relevant baking qualification or at least two years of relevant experience in a commercial or retail bakery.
* Sound knowledge of dough preparation, fermentation, proofing and baking processes.
* Ability to work early morning shifts and meet production deadlines.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy bakery environment.
