Senior Service Designer Job Summary

The Senior Service Designer will lead and undertake service design activities in a multi-disciplinary agile delivery team, balancing user needs with business goals.
About the Role
* Lead and undertake service design activities in pre-discovery, discovery, and design and delivery.
* Enhance and improve existing software systems, including designing, developing, implementing, and testing software solutions.
* Apply best practice service design methods and processes to support the future design of electoral services or improved customer experiences.
* Deliver and design appropriate service design artefacts and communication materials as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Transform defined business needs into outcomes and problem statements for large-scale government applications and complex systems.
* Work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams, building shared goals and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.
* Plan, facilitate, and document user interviews, identify root causes, and drive process and capability maturity improvements.
* Translate between business and technical needs, negotiate outcomes, and support the growth of less experienced team members.
Requirements
* Experience delivering in project/program environments with a strong grasp of human-centred design, user journey mapping, and strategic service design implementation.
* Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, building shared goals and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.
* Skilled in planning, facilitating, and documenting user interviews, identifying root causes, and driving process and capability maturity improvements.
* Ability to translate between business and technical needs, negotiate outcomes, and support the growth of less experienced team members.
Candidates must be Australian Citizens with Federal Government clearances or above to be found suitable.
Strong candidates will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
They will also have a high degree of autonomy, be able to prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
