Health Promotions Trainee

Coonamble Aboriginal Health Service (CAHS) is seeking an enthusiastic person to fill the position of
Health Promotions trainee based at Dubbo to join our expanding health promotions team. The
position will provide administrative and operation support to the Regional Health Promotions Manager
in the delivery of high-quality health promotion and education projects.
The trainee position combines on-the-job training with formal study, allowing individuals to gain
practical skills and a nationally recognised Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal and/or Torres
Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice.
NOTE: This is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identified position authorised by Section 14
of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW.
Key Selection Criteria
Identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander with ability to provide proof of Aboriginality
(mandatory),
Willing to undertake a Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
Primary Health Care Practice.
Willing to gain the knowledge in the design and delivery of health promotion and primary
prevention initiatives within a Community Health or related setting
Willing to travel outside of normal business hours and undertake weekend work as required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft Office applications, and data
management systems.
Demonstrates a commitment to the CAHS code of conduct, equal employment opportunity, work
health & safety and cultural safety framework.
Current nationally coordinated criminal history check, NSW working with children’s check and
unrestricted class C or P2 driver’s license.
