About the Role
You will be part of the Whyalla Sourcing, Procurement & Inventory Lead Team and contribute to the development and ongoing implementation of the sourcing strategy, with specific focus on non-trading inventory.
Responsibilities include:
* Coach, mentor and train team members in their roles to build capability and ensure their success
* Oversee Stores and Inventory Management, Sourcing and Procurement activities for significant events such as Shutdowns/Campaigns or breakdown situations
* Manage the central Material Requirement Planning and Inventory Control function for the business
* Establish and manage inventory controls to ensure optimised inventory levels and stock turns
* Monitor consumption and forecast consumption and adjust replenishment plan to suit
* Receiving goods into the stores areas and all receipting of goods in the ERP/ERS including direct delivery
* Short and long-term storage of goods in a manner that ensures that they are fit for purpose when they are used in the plant
* Maintain stored items in good condition so they are fit for purpose when consumed
* Ensure a partner is allocated to and attends relevant business unit meetings at least monthly
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Experience in warehousing, logistics, procurement or management in a complex organisational (manufacturing or industrial) environment
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Management principles such as Six Sigma
* Desirable to have a tertiary qualification in a Business/Logistics/Procurement degree or similar
* Advanced written and verbal communication skills
* Exceptional analytical skills with proven ability to model, analyse and summarise data
* High level of computer literacy including MS Office suite
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment, to prioritise competing demands and to focus on delivery of outcomes
* A flexible team-work approach to tasks and responsibilities
* Demonstrated skills in negotiating, implementing and managing contracts, including a thorough knowledge of legal requirements
