**Head of Sales - VIC Independent Agencies, Direct & Regionals**
News Australia, recognized as the nation’s most impactful media group and the recipient of the 2024 AdNews Sales Team of the Year Award, is seeking a high-calibre **Head of Sales** to lead our **Victorian Independent Agencies, Direct, and Regional markets.**
This is a critical leadership role demanding a highly commercial leader capable of leading a high performing sales team to drive growth, optimizing team performance and delivering on client business objectives. This is a diverse and influential client portfolio.
**What You’ll Do**
You will be tasked with transforming and maximizing revenue streams across three distinct and crucial market sectors. Your mandate includes:
+ **Commercial Strategy**: Define, implement, and own the multi-faceted commercial strategy for the VIC Independent, Direct, and Regional client bases. This includes rigorous forecasting, risk management, and achieving substantial year-on-year revenue growth across both print and premium digital channels.
+ **High-Performance Leadership**: Act as a hands-on coach and inspirational mentorto a specialized sales team. Instill a culture defined by high accountability, deepdigital fluency, strategic solution selling, and continuous professional development.
+ **Key Relationship Cultivation**: Personally manage and elevate senior-levelrelationships with proprietors of top Independent Agencies, key direct advertisers,and influential figures in regional Victoria to secure long-term, high-valuepartnerships.
+ **Integrated Solution Selling**: Champion the strategic integration of News Australiadifferentiated assets—including proprietary audience data, video, programmaticsolutions, and premium content marketing—to develop bespoke, outcome-basedclient solutions that transcend simple inventory transactions.
+ **Market Intelligence and Adaptation**: Serve as the strategic conduit for marketintelligence, proactively identifying competitive threats, emerging regionalopportunities, and technological shifts to ensure our sales approach remainsinnovative and industry-leading.
**Who are you?**
+ **Experience**: Minimum of 7+ years in senior sales management or leadership within the media or advertising industry, with a demonstrable track record of exceeding multi-million-dollar targets.
+ **Market Expertise**: Profound and actionable understanding of the Victorian media ecosystem, evidenced by deep-rooted commercial relationships across Independent Agencies, regional networks, and major direct accounts.
+ **Digital Fluency**: Expert command of the contemporary digital media landscape, including data activation platforms, programmatic buying, attribution models, and sophisticated digital campaign structures.
+ **Strategic and Analytical Acumen**: Exceptional ability to synthesize complex data into clear, executable commercial strategies and to lead sophisticated contract negotiation and proposal development.
+ **Cultural Leadership**: A compelling track record of developing, motivating, and retaining high-calibre sales talent, driving operational excellence, and fostering a collaborative, results-driven environment.
