Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS TrustAn exciting opportunity has arisen within the gynaecology department at Whiston hospital.The post holder will be expected to assist the Ward Manager in all aspects of the clinical operation of a 23 bedded Gynaecology Ward and Gynaecology Assessment Unit.Successful applicants will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic, have experience in surgical nursing and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.We require an individual who is forward thinking, well organised with a positive attitude towards flexibility and change. Recent gynaecological experience at band 5 level or above is desirable along with a proven track record of effective communication, leadership and clinical expertise.Main duties of the jobTake charge regularly of a ward in the absence of the Ward Manager.Lead a team of staff at Band 5 and below and set and maintain delivery of quality of care.Have an awareness of the Clinical Governance Agenda is essential.
