Logistics Officer (Storeman)
Rate: $40-$45 per hour (A2 equivalent)
Duration: 6 months (with potential to extend)
Hours: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, 10 days per fortnight
Work Type: Onsite only
My client, a very well-known Australian organisation, is seeking an experienced Logistics Officer (Storeman) to join their Somersby Warehouse team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a close-knit team in a role that offers variety and responsibility.
About the Role
You'll be part of a mobile, multi-skilled team responsible for inspection, quality control, receipt, safe custody, warehousing, and issuing of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
* Pick/pack orders, receive and put away materials, consolidate stock, and sort reclaimed materials.
* Operate forklifts (reach forklift experience highly desirable)
* Conduct regular stock counts and report discrepancies
* Maintain productivity in line with KPI targets
* Comply with safety, environmental, and business procedures
* Use ERP systems (SAP experience preferred)
* Perform other duties as directed
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience in logistics, procurement, or warehouse roles
* Current Class C driving licence
* Forklift licence (Reach Forklift licence ideal)
* Strong knowledge of inventory control processes
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to use IT/Warehouse Management software and ERP systems
* Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
* Ability to work autonomously and in a team
* Commitment to training and positive stakeholder relationships
* Experience with barcode order picking systems
Desirable:
* Qualifications in Procurement, Logistics, or related fields
* Knowledge of materials/services used in heavy industry
* Dogman ticket
