About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Infectious Diseases Physician to join our team at Launceston General Hospital as either a Staff Specialist or Head of Department ID & Staff Specialist. Our hospital has excellent teaching and research credentials with ties to the University of Tasmania Medical School and research supported by the Clifford Craig Foundation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist care in Infectious Diseases, including outpatient consultation to public patients across Northern Tasmania in specialist ID services.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist advice to inpatient units as required, including twice weekly critical care ID rounds
* Be involved in research and quality improvement activities, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
* Participate and lead the Antibiotic Stewardship Program

Requirements
* Fellowship training in Infectious Diseases or equivalent qualifications
* Proven leadership experience in clinical settings
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams
* Commitment to teaching and mentoring healthcare professionals
* Experience with quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
