Job Title: Prison Management Coordinator
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Prison Management Coordinator. As a key member of our watchhouse operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all prisoners placed into the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise, manage, and monitor prisoners in a dynamic environment, including CCTV operation, security of the watchhouse, console operation, prisoner and visitor checks, and attending to prisoner needs.
* Perform searches, including the use of electronic scanning devices, pat-downs, general searches of prisoners' possessions, and assisting police officers with searches.
* Escort prisoners on foot or in vehicles to other areas and centres, and guard prisoners in court.
* Record results, move prisoners from holding areas to the court dock, compile prisoner files, and perform tasks as directed by the 'proper officer' of the court.
* Provide first aid, including resuscitation, and liaise with Queensland Ambulance Service and Queensland Health professionals.
* Take identifying particulars, including photographs, fingerprints, and DNA sampling.
* Conduct administration tasks, including answering telephones, using computers, conducting shift audits of equipment, and liaison with external agencies.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will require strong interpersonal skills, including verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills. You will also need to demonstrate compassion, understanding, respect, patience, and resilience in your work with prisoners.
Training and Development:
As a Prison Management Coordinator, you will undergo a comprehensive training program in Brisbane, covering legislation, policy, and procedures, as well as operational skills training. You will also receive ongoing training and annual updates on operational skills and tactics.
