Country Mile is seeking a casual, freelance Fashion Designer to support the creation of unique, considered apparel across men's and women's ranges. This role focuses on designing original pieces, refining silhouettes, and contributing creative direction that aligns with Country Mile's classic, understated country aesthetic. You'll work closely with the founder on new concepts and seasonal drops, with flexible hours and a casual rate from $35 per hour, negotiable based on experience.

About the role
This is a flexible, freelance-style position suited to someone who enjoys hands-on design work and collaborating closely with a small, growing brand. Hours will vary depending on workload and upcoming drops.
You'll be working directly with the founder on new styles, refinements and technical development.
Key responsibilities
* Assisting with garment design concepts and construction details
* Pattern making and pattern adjustments for men's and women's apparel (less of this will be required )
* Providing guidance on fabrics, finishes and garment functionality
* Making fit recommendations based on samples and wear testing
* Preparing seasonal drops and ongoing product updates as needed
About you
* Experience in fashion design (must) and/or pattern making
* Strong understanding of garment construction and fit
* Comfortable working independently and managing your own time
* Practical, detail-focused and solution-oriented
* Appreciation for classic, wearable design (not trend-driven fast fashion)
* Experience with casualwear, outerwear or lifestyle apparel. - we are focused on elevated basics.
