The Assistant Head of Junior School provides day to day support to the Head of Junior School in the management and operation of the Junior School. The role is focused on providing quality instructional leadership specific to curriculum, assessment and reporting practices. All responsibilities are carried out in alignment with, and in active commitment to, the school's values.

The successful applicant will demonstrate strong instructional leadership, a commitment to student wellbeing, and the capacity to lead curriculum implementation. The role includes supporting staff development, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with school policies and regulatory requirements.

* Demonstrated expert knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and local and national standards for assessment and reporting, and experience in developing and implementing effective strategies and processes for curriculum, assessment and reporting
* Demonstrated ability to lead the planning and implementation of high impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs; and the ability to support teachers to evaluate the impact of teaching and learning programs on student learning growth
* Demonstrated exemplary ability to monitor and assess student learning at a class, cohort or sub-school level and use this data to lead improvement initiatives; supporting others in using data to inform teaching practice and to provide feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents
* Demonstrated exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, parents and the broader school community focused on student learning, agency, wellbeing and engagement
* Proven contemporary knowledge, skills and experience in a junior school setting or equivalent context; including leading the development and delivery of innovative and high-quality teaching and learning programs and staff professional learning, resulting in improved student outcomes
* High-level collaboration, organisational and time management skills, with attention to documentation and compliance requirements
* A degree and/or post graduate qualifications in Education
* Northern Territory Teacher Registration (TRB)
* Working with Children Clearance (WWCC) 'Ochre Card' - employment is conditional on compliance with the Care and Protection of Children Act (NT) 2007, as amended, and the accompanying regulations
