The Maintenance and Calibration Technician is responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing equipment and production facilities are kept in compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements and are maintained in a safe and operational state.This includes but is not limited to: Cleanrooms, Sterilisation Areas, Production Rooms, Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS), Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Distribution Systems, Heating-Ventilation-Air Conditioning Systems (HVAC), Compressed Air Systems, Fire Suppression Systems and Medical Gases.At outstanding opportunity is on offer and includes:Initially you will commence on a temporary basis with the view to go permanentDay rate shifts $60per hour plus penalties and shift allowancesDay and afternoon shifts available for the right candidatesEasily accessible via public transport to the doorstep!Ensure maximum availability and safety of manufacturing equipment and servicesUndertake scheduled maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment and services in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS)Take ownership in resolving unscheduled (breakdown) tasks relating to plant and equipment and address product yield related issues resulting from plant and equipment failuresCollaborate and support other business needs by completing Service Portal requests assigned to the Maintenance and Calibration (M&C) DepartmentCoordinate and supervise the execution of minor and medium level Project Work Plans under the guidance of the Production Facilities and Maintenance SupervisorProvide technical information and advice to internal customers including Production and Engineering teamsAccountabilities:Accountability 1: TechnicalPlan and execute maintenance & calibration activities to schedule and in accordance with the Maintenance and Calibration ProcedureEnsure manufacturing equipment and production facilities are maintained in compliance with regulatory and legislative requirementsResolve manufacturing equipment and production facilities issues in a timely and cross-functional mannerEnsure manufacturing equipment and production facility issues are communicated in accordance with the Maintenance and Calibration Escalation ProcedureUndertake technical training, both internal and external, as per requirementsLiaise with internal customers and external contractors to ensure timely performance of dutiesAccountability 2: DocumentationAwareness of the requirement for Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) and the ability to recognise when an NCR is requiredComplete all necessary documentation in a timely manner, accurately and completely in accordance with the QMS (Quality Management System)Actively review Tool Record instructions when undertaking Maintenance and Calibration tasksReview Tool Records and other Maintenance and Calibration documentation as required to ensure continuous improvement opportunities are always pursuedAccountability 3: WHS ResponsibilitiesWork safely by having a pro-active safety attitude in all actions performed by applying awareness, sound risk assessment practices and the use of Isolation and Tag Out ProceduresPerform all work duties in a manner that ensures the health and safety of all employeesImmediately reporting all incidents, accidents, hazards or unsafe work conditions to managementParticipation in incident investigations as requiredAssist in corrective actions following Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) auditsEnsure all works performed by external contractors are in accordance with the Contractor and Works Management ProcedureUndertake safety related training, both internal and external, as per legislative requirementsUnderstand the company’s emergency response and evacuation proceduresAccountability 4: Departmental ResponsibilitiesAssist the Maintenance and Calibration Department in meeting business expectations by continually achieving against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Actively manage M&C spare parts & consumablesAssist with procurement of materials / spare parts and equipment in accordance with Procurement PolicyAdhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)Provide advice on technical issues both within and beyond the Maintenance and Calibration Department including:Production and product development operationsSafety, ergonomic, and environmental initiativesIn-house and contract facility maintenance organisationsAct as a mentor to other M&C Technicians and Production Team MembersParticipate in shift work, overtime, on-call and call-back arrangements as required and as per the M&C Payroll ProcedureFollow relevant quality procedures in order to deliver quality products and services; and identify and support the implementation of continuous improvement. Undertake additional quality responsibilities (e.g. audit) when appropriately trained to undertake these tasksContribute ideas on systems and process methods to improve deliverablesWork safely, complying with all safety procedures, rules and instructions; and reporting workplace hazards, incidents or injuries to managerBe motivated, proactive and self-guided in problem solving and conscious of the importance of achieving expedient outcomesMinimum:Certificate of Competency / Proficiency issued by a registered and accredited AS/NZ training organisationPossess proven abilities in the maintenance and calibration of specialised manufacturing equipment and test systemsExperience working in a Planned Maintenance environmentGood oral and written communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical informationIdeal:Previous experience in a similar roleRecognised trade qualified (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical/Fitting, Tool Making)Post trade qualifications to a higher Engineering level (Advanced Certificate, Diploma of Engineering)Restricted Electrical License (experience of manufacturing electrics)Read and understand schematic drawings for electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic circuitsExperience in a medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing environmentExperience with using Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Experience working within a Quality Management SystemExposure to TPM and RCM or similar methodologiesExperience managing external suppliers and contractorsExperience mentoring team membersTo apply for these amazing opportunities, please click on the “Apply Now” button and follow the prompts or call Tony on 07 34565607 .About RPR Trades;Based in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne, our difference is our ability to take a specialised, yet holistic, approach to workforce challenges faced by our clients in delivering solutions that add true value.
