ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a Social Worker in the Working Women Queensland Program at Basic Rights Queensland, you provide support under the direction of a Manager. You use your expertise to support individual clients and help ensure quality service delivery. Your work focuses on client service, including individual advocacy, brief, ongoing and group support to deliver outcomes for individual clients. You contribute to:
* Direct client work - delivering quality and inclusive services that have a meaningful impact and are responsive to client/community need
* Practice supervision - supporting processes and practices that comply with funding, accreditation and risk management requirements, and leading as part of a team that lives our values, focuses on performance, and has impact
* Community/organisation - engaging with the community to leverage and amplify our impact, while supporting operational, administrative and sustainable practices
This is an ongoing position. Part-time 0.8 preferred but full time may be considered.
ABOUT YOU
* You are compassionate and client-focused, with a strong commitment to social justice principles, including an understanding of the issues which affect women and gender diverse people in relation to work.
* You have experience providing appropriate and timely information, support and referral, short-medium term individual counselling and case management for women and gender diverse people, using a flexible, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and relational approach
* Your communication and interpersonal skills are excellent, with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong and cooperative relationships, including liaising with agencies and other service providers
* You have demonstrated experience recording client data accurately, maintaining high quality service notes and case work records
* You have sound knowledge of the legal and social issues affecting women and gender-diverse people at work.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, YOU NEED:
* Tertiary qualifications in Social Work.
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the provision of counselling, support, casework and advocacy, reflected in a high level of knowledge and skills in responding to the impacts of intersectional oppressions and trauma.
* A commitment to an intersectional feminist framework, social justice, equity and empowerment of diverse women and gender diverse people and communities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
