Your new company
Our client is a specialist provider of expert reclamation and repair services for powertrain components, with a strong emphasis on surface grinding and lathe repairs to maintain peak machinery performance. Based in Paget, Queensland, they support Central QLD's heavy earthmoving sector with high-quality machine shop services and tailored technical advice. With over 20 years of experience, they blend precision engineering with integrated project management tools to deliver seamless service and customer engagement.


Your new role
* Operate and maintain manual and CNC machines including lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders.
* Perform precision machining of components to restore or enhance functionality, particularly for Caterpillar powertrain systems.
* Conduct fault-finding and failure analysis on mechanical parts and assemblies.
* Reclaim worn or damaged components through welding, machining, and grinding processes.
* Measure and inspect finished components to ensure they meet technical specifications and tolerances.
* Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to interpret technical drawings and job requirements.
* Assist in the overhaul and reconditioning of heavy machinery components.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with WHS standards.
* Document work performed and maintained accurate records of repairs and modifications.
* Provide input on continuous improvement initiatives and workshop efficiency.


What you'll need to succeed

* Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining) or equivalent.
* Experience in heavy earthmoving, mining, or similar mechanical environments.
* Skilled in operating manual and CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders).
* Familiarity with Caterpillar powertrain systems (highly regarded).
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Have contactable references
* Ability to pass pre-employment checks
