We're looking for a highly organised, detail-oriented Finance & Operations Manager to bring rigour and clarity to the numbers while supporting the day-to-day financial and operational heartbeat of the business.
Your Role
This is a hands-on role where you'll manage everything from bookkeeping and cash flow forecasting to reporting, stock planning, and keeping us on budget. You'll be the person who ensures our numbers tell the right story — and that the business stays financially healthy as we scale.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Bookkeeping
* Issue and track invoices (accounts receivable/payable).
* Chase overdue payments in a professional, friendly manner.
* Maintain accurate bookkeeping records (Xero or equivalent).
* Prepare BAS, payroll, and compliance reports in collaboration with our accountants.
Financial Planning & Analysis
* Build and maintain cash flow forecasts.
* Track sales budgets and report on variances vs. targets.
* Prepare monthly management reports for the Founder and leadership.
* Calculate and track Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) across FMCG and café.
* Provide profitability analysis by channel (wholesale, distributor, DTC, export, café).
Inventory & Operations
* Forecast stock requirements across FMCG SKUs and café.
* Monitor best-before dates and advise on stock clearance strategies.
* Support production planning with inventory insights.
* Track input costs (ingredients, packaging, freight) and update costing models.
Commercial Support
* Provide financial insights to support pricing, promotions, and sales strategy.
* Analyse customer and product-level performance.
* Support supplier negotiations with accurate cost and margin data.
Systems & Process Oversight
* Champion ERP / inventory / finance system accuracy (Odoo preferred, Xero).
* Build simple dashboards for financial and sales visibility.
* Improve internal processes for greater efficiency and transparency.
What You'll Bring
* 3–5 years' experience in finance, bookkeeping, or commercial operations (FMCG or café/retail preferred).
* Strong skills in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Excellent Excel/Google Sheets proficiency (cash flow, pivot tables, margin calculators).
* Experience with accounting systems and ERP tools
Xero / SAP/ Oracle / Dynamic / Odoo a plus.
* High attention to detail, proactive communicator, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
* Commercial awareness — understanding both numbers and the business behind them.
