What You'll Be Doing

You'll work side-by-side with experienced butchers to learn every aspect of the trade – from knife skills and meat prep to customer service and food safety. Day-to-day, you'll:

* Learn to cut, trim, bone, and prepare meats to high Cannings standards
* Assist with stock rotation, quality checks, and meat displays
* Help fulfil customer orders and special requests
* Maintain strict food safety and hygiene practices
* Keep your workspace spotless and organised
* Grow your confidence and capabilities in a fast-paced retail environment

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

* Has existing meat industry experience (can be in a counterhand role or similar)
* Is passionate about food and keen to learn a real trade
* Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in their work
* Thrives in a team environment and communicates well
* Is reliable, punctual, and willing to work across weekdays and weekends
